She Shears focuses on five women in the shearing industry and will screen at the Central Cinema in Alexandra on September 26 and 27.
Ms Karauria will be present and will take part in a question-and-answer session after the screening.
Central Cinema spokeswoman Karin Bowen said several other notable films were scheduled at the not-for-profit cinema.
They included screenings of the Manhattan Short Film Festival on September 29 and 30. Central Cinema was the only theatre in New Zealand to participate in the festival, Mrs Bowen said.
Another film with Central Otago connections, Stray, would be screened on October 5.Much of Stray was filmed in Central Otago.
