How much does the ODT cost to have it delivered? The cost of your newspaper is between $1.05 and $1.70 per day (including the weekend edition) depending on what payment method you choose. Delivery is free in our urban delivery areas, however a rural delivery fee does apply for those outside the urban areas.
To purchase the ODT from a retailer costs $2.20 per weekday and $3.50 for the weekend edition so as a subscriber you can save hundreds of dollars.
Is there a way that I can get access to the ODT if I live overseas or outside the circulation area? Yes, if you have a desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone plus access to the internet, then you can access the ODT digital e-edition. The e-edition is an exact replica of the print edition. It is available free to ODT print subscribers, or you can purchase a digital only subscription.
If you prefer to get a print edition then postal subscriptions are available, however same day delivery is not possible.
I'm going on holiday, can I suspend my ODT delivery? You can choose to temporarily stop and restart your subscription at any time by either calling our circulation team on 03 479 3555 or emailing circulation@alliedpress.co.nz with your name, address, phone number, subscriber number (if known), plus the last delivery date and restart date. If you have access to the e-edition please advise if you would like this service to continue*.
If you pre pay your account this will also be put on hold meaning you are assured of receiving the full number of newspapers you have paid for.
Stops and starts need to be requested earlier than 3pm the weekday prior to action taking place.
What happens if my paper is not delivered, or it's damaged or wet? The ODT has a redlivery service in selected areas, call the circulation team in your area prior to 9am to see if redelivery is available. If for some reason we are unable to redeliver, or if you call after 9am we will credit your account. Some conditions may apply.
I'm moving house, what should I do? Contact our circulation team before 3pm the weekday prior to your move and you won't miss an issue. The ODT will be ready and waiting for you six days a week, just like at your previous address.
If you are unsure if your new address is within the ODT delivery area, give our circulation team a call to find out.
