She replaces outgoing veteran director Pete Moynihan.
Mrs Faulks is a farmer and director of Altavady Farm and Glenkerry Farm — part of a family-owned six-farm beef, dairy and forestry group and a member of the North Otago Sustainable Land Management Group’s steering board.
Chairman Bruce Wills said shareholders had made a wise choice.
"The combination of Kate’s farming experience, foundational governance experience and her passion for our co-operative and the wider sector, means she is an ideal addition to the Ravensdown board. I am very much looking forward to her contribution."
Since 2022, she’s been a board intern for Port Otago and its subsidiary Chalmers Properties, developing governance and strategy experience as well as working with senior management and regulatory shareholders such as the Otago Regional Council.
Mrs Faulks graduated with first class honours in a master of business administration degree and a bachelor of chemical and process engineering.
Mr Wills said Mr Moynihan’s lengthy service on the board needed to be recognised.
"I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank Pete, who is retiring after serving three terms in office over 11 years. His service to the board and the co-operative has been tremendous."
He praised unsuccessful candidates Jonathan Cameron, Simon Davies, Jolene Germann and Glen McDonald for standing.
As the only candidate nominated for the North Island director area, Mr Wills remained a director for a further three-year term.
