Fine weather greeted spectators at the 56th annual Lawrence Rodeo on Saturday.
Lawrence Rodeo Club rodeo secretary Marinka Kingma said close to 1500 spectators were treated to some fine displays of rodeo riding by over 200 competitors.
‘‘Everybody has a great day and the event ran amazingly well. The crowd were good and the club members and volunteers all pitched in to make it a great day out.
‘‘We commemorated three of our longtime supporters and sponsors who had sadly passed away recently, Trevor Peters, of Peters Genetics, and Chow Williams, of South Otago Transport, have been longtime sponsors and supporters, as was the late Dan Cummings. We will miss them all,’’ Ms Kingma said.
Otago Daily Times reporter John Cosgrove captured the action, including the running of the novelty undie races.
