PGG Wrightson confident seed division sale to DLF Seeds will gain OIO assent

The sale of PGG Wrightson Seeds to DLF Seeds is now only awaiting approval from the New Zealand Overseas Investment Office.

Yesterday, Danish-owned co-operative DLF Seeds confirmed the conditions relating to South American regulatory requirements had been satisfied.

PGG Wrightson deputy chairman Trevor Burt said the company was optimistic OIO approval would be forthcoming to enable settlement of the sale.

Last week, PGG Wrightson reported a plunge in profit after its seed and grain division delivered an $8.6million loss, paring overall first-half profit to $320,000.
