Barely a trace left of village

The series "Outstanding Outhouses" features images of striking structures on southern farms.

Here rams roam near the ruins of a hotel built in 1865 in Wharekuri, about 10km northwest of Kurow.

The once busy village also included a post office, a store, a coal mine and a school for 24 pupils.
