As the rain fell in Dunedin today the clock started ticking for the inevitable arrival of the Water of Leith kayakers.
With a sodden city under an orange rain warning, the swollen waterway through the University of Otago campus again proved irresistible to a group of kayakers.
Onlookers watched as the daredevils bobbed their way past the university clocktower.
