Event co-organiser Mark Harris, of Ranfurly, said more than 85 crops were entered, the most in the history of the competition.
An awards night and charity auction will be held at Maniototo Stadium in Ranfurly on Friday next week.
North Otago farmer Jane Smith will be the guest speaker.
Fundraising recipients include the Otago Rescue Helicopter Trust and Otago Community Hospice and funds raised will also pay for scholarships for young students studying at Telford, Lincoln University or Massey University.
The competition was held every two years and the last one raised about $50,000, Mr Harris said.
"It works well. We make a fair amount of money."
