The crash happened just after 9.30am on the corner of Cross St and Severn St.
Two fire trucks, an ambulance and police attended.
Sergeant Tony Woodbridge, of Oamaru, said early indications were that the driver of the ute ran a red light.
The road was closed for “about half an hour” and he wanted to thank road users for their patience.
A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said there were no injuries and "staff were not required to treat or assess anyone".
