One dead after crash on Selwyn property

One person has died after an early morning quad bike crash in Canterbury.

Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash at an Old Tai Tapu Rd property in the Selwyn District about 6.30am on Wednesday.

"Sadly, one person was located deceased at the scene," a police spokesperson said in a statement.

It is understood a quad bike was involved in the crash.

"The Serious Crash Unit is conducting a scene examination and police's enquiries into the crash are ongoing."

The spokesperson said WorkSafe has been advised of the incident.
