Almost 15 years after his parents and three siblings were murdered in their Dunedin home, David Bain will today face his second trial for the five murders.

David Bain's lawyers were last night considering whether to appeal yesterday's High Court decision to press on with his retrial for the murder of five family members in 1994.

One of Dunedin's longest-serving JPs, Gifford Brown, has presided over his last court sitting.
