An Invercargill man raped a young girl while she was still wearing her school uniform and told her she was not leaving until he got what he wanted, a court has heard.
Concern has been aired about "such an escalation in such a short time" for a man who caused chaos on Invercargill streets with a home-made sword this year.
Invercargill lawyers are concerned about wait times in the court and an increase of appearances by audiovisual link could alleviate the pressure, a National MP says.
