Delivery Stops and Starts

You can choose to temporarily stop and restart your subscription at any time by either calling our circulation team on 03 479 3555 or emailing circulation@alliedpress.co.nz. You will need to include your name, address, phone number, subscriber number (if known), plus the last delivery date and restart date. If you have access to the e-edition, please advise if you would like this service to continue.  If you prepay your account this will be put on hold meaning you are assured of receiving the full number of newspapers that you have paid for. 

Stops and starts need to be requested earlier than 3pm the weekday prior to action taking place. 

 

ODT Digital access while newspaper delivery is on hold 

If you would like to continue access to Otago Daily Times digital content while you are away, you can still use your online account. This allows you to view a digital replica of the paper, ODT.co.nz subscriber only content, and ODT+ app content.  

If you choose to continue your digital access, you will be charged your normal subscription daily rate.  

Change or cancel your delivery suspension 

If you change your holiday plans, let us know. You can do this by either calling our circulation team by emailing circulation@alliedpress.co.nz or calling 03 479 3555 with your name, address, phone number, subscriber number (if known), plus your new dates for suspension. 

 

Delivery Redirections 

Continue to get your ODT newspaper while on holiday. You can have your newspaper delivery redirected to your holiday address, or you can continue your access to ODT digital content (digital replica of the paper, ODT.co.nz subscriber only content, and ODT+ app content) if you are outside our delivery area.  

Moving temporarily within the ODT delivery area?  

Have your ODT redirected to you for no additional cost. The ODT is delivered to most towns within the greater Otago, Southland and South Canterbury region, check here if your holiday destination is included. Please note that we cannot deliver to hotels, motels, or camping grounds.  

To request redelivery, just contact our circulation team by email at circulation@alliedpress.co.nz or phone on 03 479 3555 earlier than 3pm the weekday prior. 

Leaving the ODT delivery area temporarily? 

You can access ODT digital content (digital replica of the paper, ODT.co.nz subscriber only content, and ODT+ app content) wherever you are going, including overseas.  

The ODT Digital Access is accessible to all ODT Home Delivery subscribers at no additional cost. If you do not have an online account set up, please go to the my.ODT registration page to set one up.

Don't forget to stop your home delivery while you are away, but when you do ensure that you ask for access to your digital content to continue. Please note that even with home delivery stopped you will be charged a normal subscription rate to have access to the digital edition. 

Moving permanently within the ODT delivery area? 

If you are moving with Otago, Southland and South Canterbury region, there is a good chance we will deliver to your new address. Please get in contact with our circulation team (03 479 3555 or circulation@alliedpress.co.nz) before 3pm the weekday prior to arrange this change. Please note that delivery times differ between areas and some addresses incur extra rural delivery charges.
