CD review: Kate Bush

In 2014, Englishwoman Kate Bush embarked on her first concerts in more than three decades.

Fans might have almost thought the wait worthwhile given each Before The Dawn show was a three-act, two and a-half hour theatrical explosion of ideas.

In an era of pick-and-choose playlists, this live document is somewhat old-school, yet it’s a reminder of what can be achieved when artistic vision is fused with astonishing work ethic.

Time and again, Bush and her able band soar to the heavens (Lily) or settle into slow-burners (Watching You Without Me) as witches and spirits are summoned and/or dispatched (Tawny Moon).
