Arab states urge US to abandon Jerusalem move

Arab foreign ministers late on Saturday (local time) urged the United States to abandon its decision to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital, saying the move would increase violence throughout the region.

A series of tweets by US President Donald Trump about the investigation into contacts between his 2016 campaign and Russia prompted concerns on Sunday (local time) among both Democratic and Republican lawmakers, with Republican Senator Lindsey Graham saying Trump could be wading into "peril" by commenting on the probe.

A US Navy transport plane carrying 11 people crashed in the Philippine Sea south of Japan on Wednesday (local time) as it flew to the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan and three people were missing, in the latest Navy accident in the region.

US approves possible missile sale to Poland

The US State Department approved a possible $US10.5 ($NZ15.4b) billion sale of Raytheon Co's Patriot missile defence system to Poland, the Pentagon said on Friday (local time).
