Focused on the job at hand, bargain-hunters browse through the racks of the Charmaine Reveley stand at last year's Designer Sale at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery.

It kicks off iD Dunedin Fashion Week and this year's designer sale on Saturday will once again lure bargain-hunters with fabulous clothes from leading local designers at heavily reduced prices.

The sale begins at 9.30am and finishes at1pm. Entry is $5 (cash only) at the door.

Now in its fourth year the event is being held for the first time in the Porters' Lounge at the historic Dunedin Railway Station, which has played a lead role in the fashion week almost from the outset.

An array of items will be up for grabs, many priced well below cost, including clothing, fabric, jewellery and accessories.

Once again the sale will feature must-haves from high-profile local designers. These include Nom*D, Charmaine Reveley, Waughs, Claire Bloom, Dada and Jane Sutherland, along with Debra Fallowfield. Newcomers include Precious Peg, Zip Me Up and the Fabric Store, which will bring in members of the sewing fraternity.

"I think the ongoing success of the sale from year to year lies in the fact that there are consistently real bargains to be had.

But people have to be in quick and we advise them to get along there as early as possible," said Charmaine Reveley who, along with Anita Greene is organising the popular event.
