The 18-year-old Dunstan High School head girl loves competing in her school and sporting activities.
In the winter she played netball and in the summer her sport of choice was softball.
Drawcards for both were the chance to compete. ‘‘I like to win.'' Anna also liked the fact they were both team sports as it was ‘‘fun to meet lots of people''.
One of the proudest moments of her life was receiving the Top Batter award at the National Secondary Schools Softball Tournament last year. ‘‘I was pretty stoked,'' she said.
Another significant highlight for her was when she received the Sportsgirl Award at school last year.
It was great ‘‘getting recognised for what I achieved'', she said.
When she wasn't on the court or diamond Anna enjoyed spending time painting and managing school rock band Shoot the Breeze.
Creating tie-dyed shirts, getting their costumes ready and making sure they were all together practising were just some of the tasks she assigned herself when she politely informed them she would manage them.
Academically, Anna achieved her NCEA level two with excellence last year.

Hopes for the future: She had no "real plans at the moment" but she planned to "succeed in whatever I'm doing. I like to do things well the first time".
