Dutch violinist Andre Rieu says he is "heartbroken" after postponing his two upcoming New Zealand shows.
Rieu was scheduled to perform at Auckland's Vector Arena on October 22 and the CBS Canterbury Arena in Christchurch on October 24, but these gigs have now been cancelled, the Stuff website reported.
Rieu, who said in a statement he had been suffering from a viral infection of the vestibular nerve which left him unable to carry out his tour commitments, has also cancelled several Australian tour dates.
The statement said Rieu was "heartbroken not to perform to his fans in Australia and New Zealand".
He expected to make a full recovery and promised to be back in Australia and New Zealand very soon.
New dates would be announced soon, but full refunds were available for ticket holders who couldn't attend them.
