Explore Ranfurly’s ‘treasure trove’

The Curiosity Shoppe is often referred to as Ranfurly’s ‘‘treasure trove’’, filled with antiques, collectables and giftware, it’s a ‘‘must explore’’ for visitors and locals alike.

The new location is light, bright and spacious, and has convenient wheelchair access. Alison said the response to the new shop had been great.

Remarks from customers range from ‘‘Wow, what a treasure trove’’ to ‘‘I’ll have to come back without my husband’’.

There’s no need for that, however, as there’s a vintage car, old farm vehicles, and other curiosities in the backyard.

The Curiosity Shoppe is brimming with delights, including classic New Zealand Crown Lynn and Temuka pottery, Australian Swift-Whip beaters, beautiful English fine bone china and crystal. There’s also silver cutlery and cream-handled (a.k.a. bone-handled) knives, with full canteens or individual items available, as well as embroidered linen, glassware, dinner sets, kitchenalia, books, buttons, art glass and many more treasures just waiting to be rediscovered.

Next time you’re in Ranfurly, be sure to check out The Curiosity Shoppe for ‘‘curiosities galore, and so much more’’.

Open Monday to Sunday 9am to 5pm at 65 Mitchell St, Ranfurly.
