Firearms found after near-naked chase

A near-naked man who chased a pizza delivery driver in Mosgiel was later found to have firearms.

Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond said officers were called to a property in Carlyle Rd at 11pm yesterday after a 32-year-old man wearing only his underwear chased the driver down the street.

The driver had been trying to get payment.

When police arrived and spoke to the man, he asked them to get a top from his car in the street.

Police saw ammunition so invoked a search and found four firearms and 200 rounds of ammunition.

The man was a firearms licensed holder, but one firearm wasn’t secured in a safe.

He was arrested, but released pending further investigation.
