Police investigating after car set alight

A car was set alight in a suspicious arson in the Dunedin suburb of Brockville late last night.

Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen said at 11.40pm police were called to an ablaze Holden Astra parked on Nutsford St.

A fire and emergency spokeswoman said a fire appliance from Roslyn attended, but another Dunedin appliance was called in as the fire was thought to possibly be threatening a house.

The fire was extinguished without incident.

Police were investigating.
