    Kim Rusden, of Manawatu, received attention from the police and motorists when he carried a wooden cross along the Northern Motorway yesterday.

    A police spokeswoman said police were alerted to Mr Rusden and his cross by a concerned motorist and asked him to move on.

    Mr Rusden said he had walked the length of New Zealand with the cross because it was what God wanted him to do.
