Work continues on filling sand sausages protecting Kettle Park at St Kilda Beach.

Contractors have positioned 36 of the 51 new sand sausages and a spokesman said the council expected the work to be finished by the end of August.

The new sand sausages were designed to help protect the area around Kettle Park from coastal erosion caused by ocean swells and severe weather events.
