Financials disclosed in Ridge/Parore split

The court battle continues over the break-up of Adam Parore and Sally Ridge.
The court battle continues over the break-up of Adam Parore and Sally Ridge.
Sally Ridge received $2 million following her split from Matthew Ridge, the Auckland High Court heard today.

The concession was made by her lawyer Daniel Grove when detailing her significant financial advantage before entering a relationship with former professional cricketer Adam Parore.

Parore had only a $170,000 apartment and $50,000 in shares when they met, Mr Grove said.

The comments were made before Justice Murray Gilbert as the ongoing court battle over Ridge and Parore's break-up continues.

Ms Ridge and her daughter Jamie sat in the public gallery today supported by their respective boyfriends.

Parore sat alone on the other side of the gallery.

Details from the hearing can be published after a High Court judge lifted a non-publication order earlier this month.

Justice Pamela Andrews said the parties had not proved they had exceptional personal circumstances that would outweigh the principles of open justice.

The ongoing court battle concerns property following the end of Ridge and Parore's relationship.

Among the property in dispute is Parore's company, Small Business Accounting NZ Ltd.

However, Justice Andrews prohibited publication of any financial information about the company.

Justice Andrews lifted the non-publication order after APN New Zealand, publisher of the New Zealand Herald, made submissions in favour of open justice and freedom of expression.

APN's lawyer Kristin Bradley noted both Ridge and Parore had used their celebrity status for commercial gain, and there was public interest in their affairs that went beyond parties who were less well-known.

Ms Ridge is expected to take the stand later today followed by six other plaintiff witnesses.

Parore is also expected to take the stand later in the hearing.
