A man has drowned at Northland's Ruakākā Beach.
Police said officers were called to the beach about 11.20am today after a man got into difficulty in the water.
He was recovered from the water and brought to the shore for CPR.
"Sadly, he was unable to be revived."
Police said his death would be referred to the coroner.
