An emotional Mr Boult, surrounded by family, was given a standing ovation as he collected a lifetime achievement award at Saturday night's Westpac Queenstown Business Awards, organised by the local chamber of commerce.
Mr Boult, a former Christchurch International Airport chief executive, is an executive director of construction and infrastructure business Hawkins Group, a director of the Civil Aviation Authority, chairman of the Tourism Growth Partnership and a Child Cancer Foundation board member.
The Queenstown-based businessman's other interests include having been deputy chairman of Tourism New Zealand and chairman of Baycorp.
He also developed the Threepwood rural residential subdivision beside Lake Hayes.
The supreme winner at the business awards this time was burger company Fergburger.
