Forty-six teams of four pupils fronted for the annual Police Physical Competency Test (PCT) competition in Balclutha’s Cross Recreation Centre last Thursday, September 18.

‘‘It’s good to see Milton Primary School and St Mary’s here for the first time,’’ organiser Senior Constable Rochelle Taylor said.

‘‘The event’s been running for 10 years and has been won by Rosebank School eight times.’’

Under the supervision of up to nine police officers, the year 6-8 teams took on an agility and obstacle course including wall, fence and window clearance, load moving, running, jumping and crawling that an 18-year-old, male recruit must complete alone in no more than 2 minutes and 4 seconds to qualify for the police.
