Waitahuna resident Mila Cameron-Tuhaka, 7, browses the collection of books inside the newest Lilliput Library, located on the cycle trail between Hylton St and Lockharts Rd, yesterday.

The Lilliput Library is the 400th to be installed nationwide, the vast majority of them being located in the Otago region.

The initiative celebrates its 10th anniversary this year after the first was installed by Dunedin resident and founder Ruth Arnison in 2015.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, Ms Arnison donated 10 libraries to rural communities that did not have a box of their own.
