The raffle was run by the staff of the Central Otago ANZ branches and was drawn on Daffodil Day.
The first winner drawn was Debbie Malcolm who wasn’t aware of the prizes up for grabs in the raffle and just entered to give to the charity.
She said the call from the Cancer Society telling her she had won was a lovely surprise.
One of the prizes on offer was an e-trike from Alexandra business Rabbitt’s E-bikes & E-trikes, which she selected.
Rabbitt’s E-bikes & E-trikes owner Doug Rabbitt imports and assembles the bikes before selling them to the public.
Mr Rabbitt said he wanted to help the Cancer Society donated the $4000 E-trike as a prize in the raffle for the benefit of the charity.
Alexandra Cancer Society cancer navigator Shona Bain said support of the community had been incredible.
The raffle was a real for the community by the community affair with businesses donating prizes to raffle off on behalf of the cancer society, she said.
The winners of all the prizes donated by local businesses which included the E-trike, a trailer load of firewood, a $200 prezzy card and a hamper of groceries were all delighted with their prizes, she said
Ms Bain said the fundraiser had went really well.
