Driver unscathed after trailer rolls

The driver of a milk tanker escaped injury after the trailer they were hauling rolled, spilling milk across Smillies Rd in rural Waitaki yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the scene between Georgetown and Duntroon, 35km east of Oamaru, at 11.15am.

Sergeant Tony Woodbridge, of Oamaru, confirmed the vehicle’s trailer rolled, but the cab remained upright.

The diver was uninjured and cause of the crash was still being investigated, Sgt Woodbridge said.The road was closed while police attended the scene.
