Dan Dilkes has been appointed principal of Palmerston Primary School, Board of Trustees chairman for the school Stefan Witehira said recently.
Mr Dilkes will start work at the school on October 13.
He is deputy principal of Concord School in Dunedin.
Mr Dilkes replaces Elizabeth Cleverley, who took up her position as principal of Silverstream School in Mosgiel at the beginning of this term.
Palmerston primary school has 123 pupils.
