The right-armer made his debut for the Volts last season and has played two list A matches and five T20s for his province.
The Otago under-19 team will be missing prolific batter Tom Jones, who is expected to be named in the Volts lineup for their next Plunket Shield fixture later this week.
He will be a loss but the tournament is another opportunity for Hugo Bogue to shine.
Bogue was in tremendous form for the Zappers during the national provincial A T20 tournament in Taupō last week.
He has also clubbed two centuries for Albion in the Dunedin premier grade this season.
Wānaka teenager Sam Harper is another to watch out for.
Last month, he smashed an unbeaten 233 and took five for one in the Koford Cup.
The Otago team is coached by Shawn Hicks and Warren McSkimming.
The event will provide a stage for the country’s emerging talent to impress ahead of the 2026 ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup in Namibia and Zimbabwe.
Several players will arrive at the tournament with valuable first-class experience under their belts, including Jaskaran Sandhu (Auckland), Aryan Mann (Northern Districts), Snehith Reddy (Northern Districts), and Clarke.
The tournament also features several returning players who made a significant impact last season.
Marco Alpe (Auckland) finished among the top 10 run-scorers in the 2024/25 edition, while Bogue and Andrew Rawnsley (Central Districts) both registered centuries.
On the bowling front, Lloyd Fellowes (Otago), Harry Waite (Auckland), and Luke Harrison (Auckland) were among the top 10 wicket-takers last year and will be looking to replicate that success.
Auckland will enter the tournament chasing history as they aim for a third consecutive title.
