Otago has dismissed Wellington for 253 in a one-day game at the University Oval today.
Jacob Duffy mopped up the tail with three for 42, but it was spinner Rob Nicol who claimed the biggest wicket. He bowled the dangerous Hamish Marshall for 45.
Former Volts batsman Michael Bracewell (58) combined in a valuable 81-run stand for the fourth wicket with Devon Conway, who top scored with an undefeated 74.
The home side will be pleased with their effort with the ball on a pitch where a par score looks to be about 280.
Earlier Otago won the toss and elected to bowl.
The Volts made a late change to their squad with Jimmy Neesham replaced by Brad Wilson.
Matthew Bacon is the Otago 12th man, while Anurag Verma is carrying the drinks for the visitors.
