The Forbury Park horseman tasted glory across the two equine racing codes this week, starting with Enchanter at Wingatui on Saturday and ending with Washington's Flier at Forbury Park on Thursday night.
He was just a part-owner with Enchanter but he can claim plenty more of the credit with the win by the son of Washington VC.
Trainor and wife Anne leased the gelding as a late 3yr-old last season from Woodlands Stud agent John Devlin with the plan of racing him in the Forbury Park winter series.''
But it needed the paddock - it was overgrown,'' Trainor said.
''John said we could lease it so he's been really good about it.''
Trainor has two options with the 4yr-old now his son, Jack, is working for trainer Shane Tritton in the Hunter Valley in New South Wales.
''It could be going to Aussie with Jack. We're thinking of sending it to there, but we may keep it for the mile [day] at Winton [on October 20] to see how it handles the mile.''
Jack Trainor, who finished up with West Melton trainer Cran Dalgety to move to Australia, had his first Australian drive last night at Newcastle. .
The fifth and final foal of Tuapeka Wings spent his early years at Tuapeka Lodge near Lawrence, and is a half-brother to Great Northern Derby winner Ideal Scott, who lines up at Menangle tonight.
