Irish Whisper is set to resume racing at Addington tomorrow night.
The winner of three of his five starts, Irish Whisper has not raced since November.
He has won at Oamaru and Addington (twice).
The Phil Williamson-trained Irish Whisper won a trial at Ashburton on March 13.
The Fiery Ginga is back in action tomorrow night.
An Interdominion heat winner at Ballarat in January and fourth in the final, The Fiery Ginga returned to New Zealand on March 6.
East Taieri owner-trainer Alan Clark had planned to campaign The Fiery Ginga at Menangle but the horse had lightened in condition and Clark took the opportunity of a flight back to Christchurch. A week in the paddock and The Fiery Ginga was given a easy assignment in a barrier trial at Forbury Park to work towards a clearance from the unruly list for mobile start races. He had been declared unruly after a lapse in Australia.
The Fiery Ginga had another trial at Invercargill last week, both times against maiden pacers. He ran a respectable 2.46.9 for the 2200m at Invercargill.
• You Rock, last-start winner of the $82,000 Yearling Sales Trot at Rangiora, has been scratched from the New Zealand Trotting Derby tomorrow night after being treated with a substance inside the prohibited withholding time.
• Mitchell Kerr has been engaged to drive Hone Heke in the race for junior drivers at Invercargill on Sunday.
Hone Heke has won his two starts back from a a four year lay-off.
• Didjamakem Bolt qualified as a pacer 9.9sec inside the required time at Winton yesterday. The Tinted Cloud-Sweet Petite gelding is a brother of Aquinaah (two wins).
Snow Boy, who has been placed in seven of his 25 starts as a pacer, qualified as a trotter yesterday 7.8sec inside the required time. The 7yr-old Grant Our Wishes-Handover gelding is trained by Craig Laurenson, who has Didjamakem Bolt and Aquinaah.
Larix, who has been entered for the Rangiora meeting on Sunday won a trial from 60m. Larix is in a heat of series for four and 5yr-old trotting mares at Rangiora. She ran second to Arabess in the race last year.
