Four rounds remain in the Southern Region club competition and there are still plenty of variables regarding who can make the semifinals.

It is safe to say that Crescent have qualified for the finals on the back of their last-minute win over Clutha last weekend.

The men from Kaitangata have only lost one game this season and are among the favourites to win the title.

Crescent head to Swamp Hen Park this weekend to take on an Owaka side who have won three games on the bounce and are closing the gap with the top four.

Owaka sit four points outside the semifinal picture, and a win over the league leaders this weekend could give them the required boost.

West Taieri moved into outright second spot after last weekend’s favourable results.

The defending champions head to Milton this weekend to face a Toko side in an injury crisis.

Toko lost two more key players last weekend, which adds to an already packed emergency room.

West Taieri will be favourites to win this game and they will be hoping Owaka can do them a favour.

Clutha Valley return to action after a couple of weeks off and will be looking to solidify their position in the top four.

Valley host Heriot for the Trevor Peters Memorial and will be requiring no less than a bonus-point win.

Valley are 10 points behind Clutha in third position, but only four points clear of the chasing pack.

Heriot are looking down the barrel of their first wooden spoon in club history and will desperately want to reap some kind of reward in this game.

Both sides were beaten in close games last weekend and will be eager to put on a good performance.
