Demand for top bulls

Quality bulls continue to be in demand at sales throughout the South.

Bulls sold from Raglan, in the Waikato, to Te Anau.

Gray and Robyn Pannett, from Limehills Hereford stud at Millers Flat, had a total clearance of 39 bulls for a "tremendous" average of $6630, PGG Wrightson Otago stud stock specialist Roger Keach said.

Their top price was $19,000, paid by Alan and Richard Hore, of Beaumont Station.

Glenside Simmentals, at Lawrence, sold 14 of 17 bulls, at an average price of $5071.

Colin Gibson, from Seadowns Herefords in North Otago, sold 22 of 27 bulls, for a top price of $5800.

The Westholm Hereford stud, near Tapanui, achieved a top price of $6000, while Blue Mountain Angus had a top price of $5000.

Wayne Williams, from Glacier Horned Herefords, on the West Coast, sold a bull for $14,000.
