Fundraiser

The naughty but nice Shirley Valentine, featuring Nancy Schroder as Shirley Valentine, visits Dunedin tomorrow night, to raise funds for the Otago Community Hospice.

Shirley Valentine is on for one night only at 8pm in the Regent Theatre on July 3.

Colour up

Dr Stella Lange, of Otago Polytechnic's design school, will open up the world of colour theory, as proposed by artists Wassily Kandinsky and Johannes Itten, on Saturday between 2pm and 4pm in a colour theory workshop at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery. $15, includes materials.

Milford Galleries, Queenstown, 9a Earl St, July 4-22: "Works On Paper" by Dick Frizzell, Nigel Brown and Alexis Neal. A strong sense of exuberance, humour and nostalgia is evident in Dick Frizzell's bold sharp-witted slant on popular culture. Leading New Zealand figurative artist Nigel Brown presents eight hand-coloured lithographs titled "Seven Last Words". At the heart of Alexis Neal's practice is a quest to define a place for women's cultural identity. The exhibition opens from 10am on Saturday July 4 and runs until July 29.
