The Dunedin singer-songwriter describes both her songs and her budding career like a personal account, "a story that is all hers", with nothing but the jugular as the ultimate goal.
"Every day I wake up with the vision of playing sold out stadium shows around the world. I'm really committed to this music journey. I can't get it out of my head."
Now based in Auckland, the 22-year-old has steadily built her reputation over the past 18 months as a local pop talent through some key collaborations and assured vocal chops.
She was roped into performing at an APRA Songhub seminar in 2017 held at Auckland's Roundhead Studios after one of the participants was struck down with illness.
"Dunedin is fantastic, but it didn't really have what I needed in terms of pop music producers."
It was at the seminar, where Wolfe met Auckland producers/songwriters Josh Fountain and Djeisan Suskov.
"They're amazing," says Wolfe.
With pivotal collaborators on deck, Wolfe released her debut single Breakdown - a power ballad in the contemporary sense that showcases the vocal peaks she is capable of - late in 2017.
Early last year she guested on the single Surrender by Auckland electronic duo Chores.
This was followed by the singles Lonely By Company and Win You Over, which were both serviced to commercial radio.
Although she "loves the collaborative environment," having as much control as possible is critical for Wolfe.
"I need to tell that story in the most honest way possible.
"Pop music sometimes gets a bad rep; sure we're writing these really catchy songs, but it's really important to me to fully reveal myself rather than hide behind something. So being fully involved in the writing process is massive for me."
Wolfe returns home tonight for the second night of a brisk two-show spell where she will give her hometown fans a taster of new music that will surface later in the year.
"It's always special to come home to see people I've grown up with or people who have supported me from the roots up.
"It was really important to me to come home and bring these new songs and a new Abby Wolfe flavour to the homeland."
