Police are still hunting for the killer of a man whose throat was slashed during a fight in a hotel room at Melbourne's Crown Casino complex.
Officers have yet to name the man, in his 30s, who was killed in the early hours of Sunday in an eighth floor room at the Crown Metropol hotel.
Police would not give any details today as they continued their search for at least two people who were in the room at the time.
Officers on Sunday told reporters that two other people were believed to have been present during the fight and all those in the room knew each other.
The room was booked by a person who is known to police.
Detective Sergeant Nathan Favre told reporters on Sunday the reason for the altercation was not clear, but the circumstances and violence of the man's death were troubling.
Police had spoken to a person who witnessed the assault, but said that person was not a suspect.
Security at the heavily monitored Casino complex contacted police after patrons reported a man had been injured.
His death left other hotel patrons shocked and frightened, with at least one telling journalists she wanted to leave.
