Chat with community board

Residents are invited to another chat over a cuppa with Mosgiel Taieri Community Board representatives tomorrow.

The next Taieri over Tea Leaves meeting will be held at 11am at Blackstone cafe and bar in Mosgiel.

Organiser and board member Sarah Nitis said the informal public forums were an excellent opportunity to raise local issues or to discuss council activities of interest to the community.

The first gathering was held in May and will continue two-monthly in a trial to encourage an involved and engaged community.

Ms Nitis said she was very happy with the first turnout.

''It is very different to the formal nature of the public forums that take place at the beginning of monthly community board meetings,'' she said.

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.
