A 32-year-old man who ran a red light was found with more than 500 grams of cannabis in his possession.
Acting Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said police stopped a man driving about 6pm on Orari St after he ran a red light.
A strong smell of cannabis prompted officers to search the car, where they found 528.8 grams of cannabis in zip-lock bags.
He was charged with possessing cannabis for supply, and is due to appear in court on December 22.
