The hours of operation at the Malcolm St centre were extended yesterday to 9.30am to 5.30pm, 7 days a week.
"After the closure of the Te Kāika testing centre on Victoria Road on June 26, we want to reassure the community that testing is readily available," WellSouth spokesperson Taylor Te Au said.
The testing centre is open for drive through and walk in testing with no appointment required.
The extension of operating hours comes as the Southern District Health Board region's cases hit a two-month high of 946 yesterday.
"As cases begin to rise in the Southern community, it is important that people continue to test and isolate if they are unwell."
The centre offers testing for symptomatic patients and surveillance testing for border workers. They do not offer pre-departure travel testing.
The testing centre is also a community collection site for rapid antigen tests.
