She is with team-mates from the South Island Secondary Schools Girls’ Invitation Cricket Team which has been competing at the inaugural Dubai Cup.
The team had to sleep on the airport floor while waiting for return tickets.
Their flight was cancelled last Tuesday after severe flooding.
The team was able to get a flight home on Friday morning just before check-ins closed for another 12 hours.
