Police say they are investigating the incident at Logan Park High School, which left one person with minor injuries.
Co-principal Kirsty Sangster confirmed the incident occurred on school grounds.
It had involved two members of the wider community and one of the school’s students.
‘‘The matter was quickly contained by staff and police attended promptly,’’ she said.
‘‘As the matter is now under active police investigation, we are unable to comment in detail on the circumstances of the incident,’’ she said.
The wellbeing and safety of students and staff was the school’s highest priority.
Appropriate support had been made available for those affected.
‘‘At this stage, our focus remains on supporting our students and staff and allowing police to undertake their investigation.’’
A police spokesman said they were called to the school, in Butts Rd, about 11.45am following reports of an assault.
‘‘Initial reports suggest the alleged offenders entered school grounds [and] assaulted a student before leaving in a vehicle.
‘‘Minor injuries have been reported.’’
Police were making inquiries, the spokesman said.
