Pole blocks road after accident

Emergency services and Delta workers attend an accident in which a car crashed into  a power pole in Barr St, Kenmure, Dunedin,  yesterday afternoon.

The male driver was taken to Dunedin Hospital with moderate injuries after the collision,  which caused the pole to fall and block the street.

A police spokeswoman said officers were called  at 2.20pm and the road was closed while the pole was cleared.

• Police were called  to an accident involving a car and bicycle  at 4.20pm yesterday on the corner of Albany and Cumberland Sts, in Dunedin. 

A female cyclist was taken to Dunedin Hospital with minor injuries.
