Red-light runner causes crash

A driver who ran a red light in Dunedin on Wednesday caused a three-vehicle crash, police say.

The man's vehicle collided with a ''people mover'', driven by a woman, at the Princes St-Dowling St lights about 4.05pm, Sergeant Nathan White said.

A stationary vehicle at the intersection was then hit by the first man's car, Sgt White said.

The man who went through the red light had minor injuries and was taken to Dunedin Hospital for observation.

He would be issued with an infringement notice for failing to stop for a red light, Sgt White said.
