Contractors remove debris and rocks after clearing the last section of the St Clair Surf Life Saving Club's former access on Saturday.
The urgent work was scheduled because the remaining section of the boat ramp was thought to be contributing to significant sand depletion around the sea wall.
It was hoped the work would help prevent a repeat of last year's problems, when several sinkholes opened on the Esplanade.
