A magnitude 3.1 earthquake gave residents in south-west Christchurch a minor shake in the early hours of this morning.
The earthquake was 5km deep, had a Mercalli intensity of 4 and occurred around 3.20am.
It was centred 10 km south-west of Christchurch according to GeoNet.
There were no immediate reports of damage.
