The serious crash unit is investigating after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Upper Hutt this morning.
Police were called after the motorcyclist hit the median barrier of the southbound lane on State Highway 2, about 1km south of Moonshine Rd, at 11.18am.
No one else was injured in the crash, Inspector Ian Harris of police central communications said.
The southbound lane has been closed while the police serious crash unit investigates.
Detours were expected to remain in place until at least 2pm.
